As entries continue to stream into the Dusi Canoe Marathon office ahead of the 69th edition of the race from 27 to 29 February, We are excited to announce that SAB remains a major sponsor of the race, extending the Hansa’s brand record sponsorship of the race to 33 years.
The beer brand has become synonymous with the three day canoeing classic from Camps Drift to Blue Lagoon, and the ice cold Hansa delivered to each finisher at the overnight stops and final race finish have become a hallmark of the event.
“Hansa is proud to be associated with the Dusi,” said Neels Prinsloo, Marketing Manager for the East Coast Region, “It is an iconic South African beer and is a great fit with the Dusi as an iconic South African sporting event.”
As part of the ongoing drive to add value to the experience of paddlers and their seconds and supporters, the Hansa team will continue to create iconic beer gardens at each of the overnight stops and at the finish in Blue Lagoon, which together with the traditional Dusi “tea tent” and food vendors will create a diverse hospitality venue at each overnight stop.
Over more than three decades, the Hansa brand has been the race’s most loyal sponsor, and title sponsor of the race in the early nineties and went to co-title sponsors the event thereafter.
“Hansa has been integral to the South African beer market for 45 years, and we are proud to continue our support for the Dusi,” Prinsloo.
“Paddlers have been very loyal to the Hansa brand, and we reciprocate by remaining steadfast supporters of the premier paddling event in South Africa,” he added.
