A major ecological incident happened on 13 August when a mixture of oil and caustic soda was deposited into the Baynespruit from Willowton Oils and then into the Msindusi River.
This caused a major die-off of fish and animal life, affected the water Ph and left sever pollution in the rivers.
In the latest installment of our Dr Mark Graham series, he talks about how we as paddlers and the general public can help going forward to clean up our rivers.
GroundTruth under Dr Mark Graham, working closely with DUCT, have co-ordinated the reaction plan to this spill.
